This animation seems to be mostly hand drawn, with the backgrounds in watercolor.
Evidence of the artists hand can be seen by the never-straight black outlines of the characters and objects.
To be honest I found the narrative of this animation quite confusing. There seemed to be symbolism within this animation, such as when the old man laid in front of the train tracks, but I couldn't quite understand the messages behind these.
However it was interesting how the musical accompaniment was used within this animation, especially at he points in which the train was about to arrive, the music would change to imitate the sound of a train. The story was told without dialogue, so the music used had to aid the narrative instead.
