78 Tours - Georges Schwizgebel
This short animation by Georges Schwizgebel was created in 1985.
The animation seems to be created using different paintings, as there is clear evidence of paint brush strokes in many parts of the video.
This animation heavily uses the technique of metamorphosis, as each new scene or set of images changes and morphs from one to the other. Although evidence of the artists hand is visible, these transitions are still fairly smooth.
Many movements of rotation are used throughout, for example of a roundabout in a park, a couple dancing, and rotated views of various objects, so that the audience are able to see all sides of them. These rotational depictions are also very accurate, which displays the artists talent of capturing different viewpoints with consistency.
This animation does not seem to have a particular narrative, however it's soundtrack aids the transition and metamorphosis of one image to another.
I like this animation as the style and musical accompaniment work well together to create fluid transitions and a European feel to the piece, and I also admire the artists work.
